MWCA Scholarship Application

The Minnesota Weapons Collectors Association is sponsoring a essay contest focused on the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights.

The applicant must be sponsored by a member of the MWCA.

The student can choose to write one of these three topics:

1) Does the Second Amendment still hold the same meaning today as it did to our forefathers? Is it still relevant to present day American society?

2) Where do you stand on the issue of gun control? Does the government have the right to step in and disarm the American people, even though the right to bear arms is one of the main principles this country was built on?

3) What are the pros and cons of gun control? Discuss each side thoroughly.

A Microsoft Word document which contains the application and instructions for the essay is provided here.

If you do not have MS Word, LibreOffice is a good and free alternative and is available for Windows, MAC and Linux.

Winners will be determined by an impartial committee based on the applications and essays received. Four scholarships will be awarded each year in the amount of $250 each. Applicants may apply once a year. All applications must be received between February 1st and May 1st preceding the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded.

Your completed application along with your essay can be submitted electronically to: info@mwca.org
